And we finally got some artwork for our very bare walls...

L.A.'s Finest

Yesterday while on the bus on my way home I had another encounter with Los Angeles's finest. A family of three were on the bus, the mother being in a wheelchair. The bus was quite crowded so about one third of the passengers were forced to perform a balancing act while the bus sped around corners. Since the woman was in a wheelchair she took up three seats with her son on her lap and her husband behind her.

Earthquake!!

So we experienced our first earthquake earlier this week. In case you have been living under a rock, Los Angeles experienced an earthquake that measured 5.4 on the Richter scale. I knew I was going to experience an earthquake while living here but I was not sure how I would react to it. Let's just say it was a hundred times scarier then I expected. I was at work and since my office is on rollers the swaying of the building makes it feel much worse. It was extremely irritating that afterwards the rest of workers continued on with their day as if nothing happened.

TinEEE computer!

TinEEE computer!

Got my eee PC today. Boy is it small! Here's a pic for scale. I basically need to re-learn to type, but that's ok... 2.3 pounds, 7.8 hour battery life, $600: not bad!

Back to the Grind

Vacation ended, sadly. It was definitely one of the funnest weeks of my life. However, I am probably set for jaegerbombs until next vacation. When we came home the cats seemed pretty pissed that we left in the first place but their constant affection led us to believe that they were happy for us to be home.

I very much dislike vacation ending. The first week back to work is terrible and every grueling minute is painful. When I think that this time last week I was beginning a very relaxing vacation on the beach, literally doing nothing. I did get a nice tan out of it.

Country Air Means Filth For Me, I Won't Breath Nothin' I Can't see

So close to the end of the day and that much closer to beach bliss. I have quite a bit to do this evening and tomorrow morning, but it will be worth it. I know my cats realize something is going on so extra attention is in order.

Colorful is the Word of the Day

This upcoming week I get to finally go to the beach for a much-needed relaxing vacation. I sincerely hope to spend the week being a beach bum and lightly shopping. We will see how it plans out. In the meantime I need to get the pet sitting squared away and finally decide what to cook for dinner on my night next week. I'm leaning towards a Tuscan pork roast but my cannelloni would be a big hit.

Right now I am listening to Liza Minnelli while I type this blog. It is multi-tasking at its best I think.

I'm surprised they were able to fit on my desk.

Proper Conversation Etiquette

Today while waiting at the bus stop for a bus that never showed up, I was talking to another regular. We have the same career so needless to say we had quite a bit to talk about, which was fortunate since the bus did not show up (you can tell I am bitter).
